Ah wen Wedding Part 1

Today is Ah wen's customary wedding ceremony! The little girl whom I met 11 years ago is finally going through the most important day of her life. :) If I'm not wrong, she met the groom (Haoting) about 12 years ago when they are still in school. I can't help pondering on the thoughts of marrying your childhood sweetheart. For most part of your life, the person is always there to share your joy and pain. Whichever interesting story you have had in the past, there's always someone else to share it with you coz very often they are in the picture as well. But too bad, I don't have any childhood sweetheart and I'm already married of course *hee hee*

Let's move on to the actual events of the beautiful day. It really started early, the makeup artist and the photographer came to ah wen's place at about 4:30am. That sounds pretty early for me definitely as I remembered I woke up at about 5++ on my wedding day. I think I must be really excited that day as well as I woke up well ahead of my alarm time. The makeup took about an hour or so while the rest of us gathered around the table for breakfast. After that, the bride starts running around for preparation of wedding games. Yes you didn't read it wrongly, she's the one who came up the game challenges! *hahaha*. That's quite interesting, considering that the bride will always side with the groom. Read on and you know this is not a "SIMPLE BRIDE" :)

The wedding game include
  1. Roast meat jelly - This comes with a 99% gross factor! Jelly always goes well with fruits but I'm not so sure of roast meat?! (Thank god I'm not the one eating it)
  2. Bee game - The groom and this brothers will have to wear the "BEE" diapers and poke the ballons with their stinger!
  3. Bak Kut Teh & Chicken soup bottles - This also has a 90% gross factor, the brothers will have to drink ICED BAK KUT TEH SOUP from the baby's bottles!! Boys, how does it feels to drink from that "angle"? :D
  4. Find the keys - Who says anything about using hand?? The groom and his brothers will need to use their feet to find the house keys in the pail of ICED COLD WATER.
  5. Singing Competition - Let's see who can sing and dance! Pump up the volume on your computer, people!

  6. Profess to your true love - The groom will have to say "I LOVE YOU, WILL YOU MARRY ME" to his wife. (They are married though?)
The groom finally gets to meet his wifeAnd now we are one big happy family!

Woah, this is going to be a long post, I'll have to continue on the next entry... :)

Mummy's Birthday

Okay, my mum's birthday was in October...This entry is really kinda super late! (But it's okay lah, I'm sure you guys won't mind :P)

On my mum's birthday, My dad brought us to the new chinese cuisine restaurant called Taste Paradise in ION shopping mall for a family celebration (Bro, you missed out the chance lah!). This is a very special year for her since chinese treat 60th birthday as an important point of life for some reasons. I did some research and according to this site "English channel", 60 years makes a cycle of life and the person is expected to have lots of children and grandchildren? *Hahaha* For my mum, she got only children (i.e. me and my brother). As for grandchildren, *ermmm*.... she has to wait patiently :P

This restaurant looks really classy and the food taste good as well. I will recommend to my friends for special occasion only as it is quite pricey. (My dad pick up the tab though :p)

With such special occasion, the present must also be a unique one!. So me, my brother and tts burned a very big hole in our pockets to get her the little blue box!...(Yes, you read correctly, it's box not pills :P)

P.S. Yo brother! My birthday coming soon, you know... ^-^

Random Updates

It's been quite a while since I last updated my blog *heehee*. This is definitely not a good reason , but I was having some problems with my new blog skin hence there's no time for new posts. Actually come to think of it, I only have probably about 1-2 hours every day (weekdays) to do my own stuffs. Most of the time when I get back to work, I will need to do some housework and visit my pet @ petsociety:) Okay enough of my stories, now let's get to the real topic.

About 2 weekends ago, I went to Ngee Ann City with my mum and TTS to catch the Subaru WRX challenge. As usual, the contest always start off with a lot of hopeful contestants trying their best to win a brand new WRX by placing their palms firmly on the car. The contest can run for days and nights, the highest that one ever stood is about 81 hours which is 3++ days. I don't think I can ever do that for sure. Imagine standing under the hot sun or heavy rain, without sleep, internet and water...how can I ever survive?? One can only take his hats off to those (the sweaty and the smelly) who won the competition. :) Well since I can't take part in the real contest, I just have to settle for the mock ones! :P

TTS taking his part too!

For those who saw me in the same top before, my mum is wearing the same thing as me :) She loves it so much and decided to get the same one for herself *heehee* - What can i say except "Great style, Great Minds think alike"

This is me wearing the same top as my mum :)

Redang Trip 2009

We went to the very beautiful beach, Redang (Malaysia) over the last weekend. It was a quick getaway for TTS and myself since we have not go for any holidays this year. Redang is located near the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia. There are multiple ways to get there but we took one of the longest and inexpensive to get there. If you have guessed it correctly, we took a coach to Merang jetty and it took us a long 9 hours ride!! We could have taken a plane there which is only 45 mins, but the timing of the flight would require us to take 1 more day of A/L. Well since we are planning for our honeymoon this year, every A/L is so precious to us.

We took off from Golden Mile tower at 10pm on wednesday night and reach the jetty only at 7++ the next morning. The journey there didn't felt that long coz we were sleeping most of of the time, only stop by at a kiosk during midnight. When we reach there, we meet up with tts's friend (Alex and Tina), have our breakfast and took the 1 hour boat ride to the island. The waters near the front part of island wasn't that fanstatics, but the one on the other side is so beautiful...

Shortly after we reached the resort, we went out to a small island for snorkelling. The water is so clear, you can see what's in the sea literally! Then we got the resort guys to take pictures for us underwater. One of them took the pictures for us and the other one have to push us all the way down underwater. It's quite an experience actually coz we have to pose for the camera and hold our breathe at the same time.

There wasn't a lot of activities on the island, after the snorkelling trip we went back for archery and then back to the hotel room to rest. At night, we dined at the hotel restaurant coz the meal is already included in the package. Then we went for a walk around the coast line before heading back to the hotel for some card game. Oh we saw a really HUGE lizard there! I believe this is one of the biggest lizard I have seen in my entire life, the size is about that of a miniature Iguana! (I swear, check out the picture!)

On the second day of the trip, we went for snorkelling again as it will cost us RM900 to go for diving which is quite expensive for our budget. This time round we went to another small island, the water here is even better plus The skyline looks so beautiful! (Don't you wish you are there now? :D)

By afternoon when we got back to Redang, we went to the sea again (*Hahahaa* it's all sea but nothing else) So we decided to entertain ourself by taking some more photos. I tried my best not to show the "mini michelin" on my body...:P

I took quite a couple of shots for TTS and his friends, you got to check out the one below!! (I guarantee it will brighten up your day!) :D

Did you know that there was a hongkong movie shot in Redang in 1999? The show starred Sammi cheng and Richie Ren and it called "Mo Mo Tea" Actually I never heard of it until we saw the "Mo Mo Tea house" there. They actually rebuilt the house in year 2003, 4 years after the movie was shot. There's no movie stars now but the house served as a small gift shop which sell daily necessity items and souvenirs.

On the 3rd day, we will need to make our way back to singapore. Well it's kinda short for a holiday but I think it's good enough for me already! I had so much sun tanning when I was there, so I was worried people might mistaken me as a malay when I'm back here :P *Thank god no one said so!" I will definitely recommend Redang to my friends, it's such a beautiful place except that take a plane there next time! The bus ride is certainly way too long for me :(

Brother short trip in Singapore

My brother came back from perth for a short trip recently. It has been a couple of months since we last saw him. Not much changes in him except that I find him looking more mature this time round.Don't get me wrong, (Bro: i'm not saying you look older) It's just that you look more like an adult than I ever see you before.

As this was a short trip, we only have time to bring him to the new shopping mall, ION! Yes, ION is one of the newest shopping centre in town. The place looks really huge and every boutique seems way too expensive for us.Any stores from first level onwards are those high end ones, so we find ourself walking around the basement more than the other floors. But since we are there, we might as well check out the biggest store in S.E.A. The store looks really magnificent and HUGE! It makes me wonder how much rental are they paying monthly...hmmm....SGD 1 million maybe??)

Then we took some time to walk around the building, BMW MINI was having a roadroad there. I always think that MINI is expensive for it's size (though i never sat in one before). But come to think of it, if I do have the money, I think i will just go for Mercedes Benz since it has higher resale value...*hahah*. The truth is I can't afford one, so some pictures will just be good enough for me :D

Yo! You looking way too cool for the car lah!!

This is the only replica of the old mini in Singapore! Be gentle on it, Bro!

Hopefully my brother come back soon and we can go on another family (shopping) trip :D
