Hepatitis Vaccination

Recently there's a Hepatitis B vaccine drive going on in Singapore, you can almost hear the advert over the radio everyday. So the other day I was telling TTS that he should go and get the vaccine shot since he tested non reactive for Hepatitis B.

Today we went to Raffles medical (TTS did a comparison between the pricing and found that it's actually cheaper to get it here) the doctor told us that the vaccine is not absolute neccessary unless we travel abroad very often or if we consume seafood in the region frequently. But it will be good to get one since Hep B can cause liver damage or cancer if you are not protected.

Actually I was only suggesting TTS to get one and I will accompany him there, but he coerced me into getting one against Hep A coz I'm immune against Hep.... Anyway, it was a nightmare for me as I never like, no! I should say "I hate" injections! I have phobia for needles..especially those that they use to poke people like me!

We waited for almost an hour before we get the shots, and I was finding loads of excuses and opportunities to run away. Finally it was our turn, my heart was beating so fast, the room looks so small and I feel like throwing up inside there. TTS went for the first shot and then followed by me. The lady asked "How are you today?"....I can't answer her at all and all I could say is "hmmmm.....yekkkss"... *hahaha* I think she can senses my fear, and guess what....I started crying!!! This is so embarassing, but I really freaked out when I saw her holding the syringe! *Ouch* It was so painful...(Okay, maybe not so painful, my fears are far more painful than that) Then this TTS was grining at me and said.. "This is my wife and also my baby". I never looked at the nurse again...

Hep A make up of 2 vaccine, the next one will be 6 months down the road. Hopefully it will turn out better by then or maybe I will just call in to cancel the appointment *hehe*
