CNY 2009

This chinese new year is another boring event for me, just like the previous years. To make it worse, TTS and my brother is not in town. TTS went back to malaysia and my poor brother is in Perth, spending the CNY alone. I really wished they are here to spend the holidays with me.. Fortunately the new year is over now, TTS is back but my brother is still over there.. We spent the reunion dinner at home, just me and my parents. This year the food is less appealing as compared to last year where we have crab and lots of stuffs on the table. I guess there are only 3 of us and I don't eat much so my mum just make it as a simple meal.

On the first day of CNY, we spent the whole morning at home then went to visit my relative at Pasir panjang. Naturally I'm the chauffer for the day, taking my folks everything in this small island. Well, there's one thing that make me happy is that I got a hong bao from my grandma *yippee* (I didn't expect to get any this year) The value is not important to me as it's from my grandma whom I love dearly..

The day ended with a trip to fernvale (our chalet), my relatives were very impressed with the decoration and the reno (thanks to max!) They didn't believe it was a 5-room HDB floor space, probably due to the empty living room which makes the place look bigger :P

The next day I went to malaysia early in the morning to visit TTS's family (my in-laws), I have to drive thru the new custom for the first time. Yes I'm nervous!! I don't have any ringgit with me and I can't speak any malay at all! Thanks to my sometimes-blur-ninja, he took the "Touch and Go" card with him!! I was stuck in the custom trying to tell the custom officer that I left the card at home and I don't have any money with me!! I remembered telling him "Do you think there's any way I can get thru here?" *wahahah* I even got ready a red packet hoping that he would let me go :P But with the new custom, everything improved tremenously. Not only that the officer was very friendly, he even ask another officer to sell me the card at the right price.  (A lesson learned; Remember to bring the Touch and Go card if you ever travel to malaysia by car)

Anyway, I went to visit my in-laws and TTS's grandmother who lives somewhere in malaysia (I don't know what's the name of the place) She is about 90 this year and still act like any woman who are 70!  Guess what she asked me "you come from singapore huh?"...*hahaha* ..(foreign brides)
